AMBASSADOR ADEYINKA ASEKUN

A business management professional, a seasoned banking and marketing practitioner who has worked in FMCG, Financial Services and served at board level in a number of companies.
Adeyinka worked in SC Johnson & Son Inc. (Johnson Wax) in the US and Nigeria, International Merchant Bank (First National Bank of Chicago) Oceanic Bank International Plc (Now Ecobank) and United Bank for Africa Plc.
Ade has established a solid track record in the retail credit business with landmark achievements in product development, loan portfolio growth and credit risk management.
He founded Hebron Limited as a training and consulting outfit in 2011.
He served as Non-Executive Chairman of Wema Bank Plc from 2012 until 2017 and played a leading role in the transformation of the bank including; the re-capitalization of the bank, the return to profitability, the re-branding of Wema Bank, the upgrade from a regional banking licence to a national license and the launch of Alat, Africa’s first fully digital bank. Ade also served as a non-executive director on the board of eTranzact International Plc, a leading payment and switching company.
Ambassador Asekun served as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Canada from 2017 to 2023. In this role he worked hard to deepen commercial ties between Nigeria and Canada, fostered collaboration between Nigerian and Canadian institutions of higher learning. He also pursued a vibrant cultural diplomacy agenda.
He has built and nurtured a number of cohesive and effective teams in the various organizations with a strong focus on helping individual employees realise their potential. He has won a number of awards over time among which are; The CEO’s award for product innovation in the development of two consumer loan products at the United Bank for Africa Plc and the CEO’s award for Best Product Manager at the same bank. As High Commissioner to Canada, Ambassador Asekun won “The Ambassador of the year award for West Africa in 2020 and 2022.

He holds two Masters Degrees (MBA and MMP); an alumnus of Haggai Leadership Institute Singapore; and member of several professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) where he is a fellow and was a member of the Governing Council.
Igho was a staff of Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) for 13 years, where he Headed LIRS Staff Training School for 8 years and trained over 2,500 staff on professional and soft skill courses. He also worked as Assistant Director in the Directorates of Personal Income Tax and Tax Audit respectively. Furthermore, Igho served as the LIRS Service Delivery Director, with LIRS winning several awards for service delivery improvement.
He was exposed extensively to several programs on Banking, Financial Services, Managerial Psychology and Human Capital Management while working for several Financial Institutions for about sixteen years before going into full time Consultancy services.
Presently, Igho is the convener of Leadership and Business Success Workshop for CEOs, top Executives, and Business Owners, which holds bi-monthly, at Lagos Mariott Hotel, Ikeja GRA. He is also the co-founder of ROHI Consulting, a thriving Management, Financial Services, Learning and Development company based in Lagos State, Nigeria.
